2. Centre Allows Import of EVs at 15% to Promote Domestic Manufacturing

6. India’s GDP Grows at 7.4% in Q4FY25; Projects 6.3-6.5% GDP for FY26

According to the SBI Research Ecowrap report, India’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) registered robust growth of 7.4% in the fourth quarter (January-March) of Financial Year 2024-25 (FY25).  The report projects GDP growth of 6.3-6.5% for FY26, indicating sustained economic momentum. 

7. India’s Nominal GDP Projected to Surpass Japan

India’s nominal GDP is projected to rise to $4,187 billion, surpassing Japan’s estimated $4,186 billion.  However, the per capita GDP remains low at USD 2,880, compared to Japan’s USD 33,900, highlighting India’s status as a low-middle-income economy.

9. Guwahati to Celebrate World Environment Day with Focus on Reducing Plastic Waste
